And with it came new lighting trends.

• Energy efficient

This shift toward energy-efficient lighting has been working towards reducing energy waste, curtailing climate change, and enjoying the benefits of a lower energy bill. LED lights have become more affordable because of the demand for them and all households seem to be switching over to this green as well as a cheap option. 

• Adjustable Lighting

Colorful lights, dimmer switches, and adjustable lights have been a great trend this year. With many local technicians installing fixtures in bedrooms of people who prefer a nice night-light, this trend has taken over the holidays too! 

• Fairy-lights 

A lighting trend that needs no electrical technician and no electrical company, this trend has been popular globally. People use these lights as image props, room decorations, photo walls, and more. They make for great ambient lights and with Instagram having its own dedicated hashtag for them this trend seems to be going nowhere! 

• Pendant Lights

Lights that hang from the ceiling have only been seen as chandeliers, but 2020 and Pinterest along with a keen interest in DIYs brought up the pendant lights. These lights are easy to install even without the help of an electrical technician and look very classy and sleek. This trend was taken up by all commercial electrical contractors and now we can see many different designs of these lights.

These trends have changed lights from being a simple basic home appliance towards a statement piece. Lights are now used as decor! The more commercial electrical contractors invest in new light trends the more the people take it up!
